CD/DVD Burning Help Section
BackUpStream provides 4 options for burning your data to CD, DVD, Flash Cards, IPODS or local hard drives.

1) CD START
2) Burn to Disc ARCHIVE
3) Burn to Disc ENCRYPTED
4) Burn to Flash Card
5) Restore From Disc

1) CD Start

When backing up large amounts of data, CD Start is a better way to perform the initial backup for data to be stored at a remote Partner location. The internet or network connections can take a long time to transfer large amounts of data between two locations.

As an example; backing up 5 gigs of data may take several days over network/internet connections; tying up bandwidth and computers on both ends.

A much faster solution is to use CD Start to burn the data to CD/DVD for the Initial Data Backup. Today’s CD/DVD burners will burn the data to 2 or 3 discs in just minutes. Create your discs and give them to your Remote Partner who can place the data in minutes. Your data is fully encrypted and can only be restored on your remote Partner’s “BackUpStream Registered Computer”.

Future backups are now incremental, meaning only the files that have been changed since the last backup are sent to your Remote Partner’s computer. These new backup updates usually complete within a few seconds to a few minutes.

2) CD Archival

Data burned using CD Archival is not encrypted. This allows you to easily create CD/DVD backups of your data which are easily stored or transported. The data discs burned with CD Archival can be accessed by any computer.

3) CD Encrypted

This is an excellent way to archive and store sensitive data. While completely encrypted and safe, using CD Encrypted means your data can only be accessed and read on the original machine that created the disc.

Data burned with CD Encrypted can only be read on your computer or a computer you configure with your specific passwords. In the event of a catastrophic loss to your computer CD Encrypted discs provide an immediate restore capability. An Encrypted Discs can only be read on the computer that created it.

What happens if my computer is lost or destroyed? Your new computer would download BackUpStream; by providing your original user ID code and password, your new BackUpStream copy will load previously encrypted data. No Problem!
